Sewer Replacement Slated

East Pennsboro Township recently announced construction work starting on Monday, August 1, on East Columbia Road between Wyoming Avenue and Rt. 11 & 15.  According to officials, when the sewers were installed a century ago, two clay pipe systems were run parallel to each other, with one serving the north side of the street and one serving the south. To simplify the piping, the township will unify those two lines between the intersections of Wyoming and Beaver Street.

DOLI Construction Corporation will begin work on the project starting on Monday at 7 a.m.  and work will continue to 7 p.m. each weekday until the job is completed, with an end-of-October projection date. The bulk of the work is anticipated to be completed by the end of August and the public can anticipate temporary paving in early September, with a goal for final paving to occur by the end of October.

Residents  can expect intermittant road closures as digging begins. The  Township announced that it will keep the public abreast of the project through social media, the website and door postings when appropriate. Residents may need to park on other streets at times while the work is underway.
