Learn about the history of our neighbor, New Cumberland

Join the Friends of the New Cumberland Library on Sunday, October 23 at 3:00 p.m. as they conduct a conversation with John (Jack) Murray on the history of New Cumberland.

Murray was born in New Cumberland in 1934 and grew up living in the Borough, first leaving due to his service in the Army in Korea. In total, Jack has been a resident of the Borough for 83 of his 88 years. Elected to Borough Council in 1976, he served all 44 years of his tenure as Council President. During his time in Borough governance, he participated in the conversion of the Benjamin Property into the New Cumberland Public Library. He also served as a baseball and football coach for many New Cumberland youth.

The program is part of the Friends of New Cumberland Public Library Cultural Series, which is underwritten by Members 1st Federal Credit Union.

The program will be held at Foundation House, One Benjamin Plaza, New Cumberland.
