Lower Paxton is once again hosting Christkindlmarkt. This is the 5th year for the popular event, which will be held on Saturday, December 9, from 10 to 4 p.m. in the Village of Linglestown.
Event organizers report that this year will be the first year for the free shuttle bus which will take visitors from CD High School at 437 Piketown Road, Harrisburg to the event in Linglestown.
The traditional German Christmas market is an outdoor street festival featuring 125+ juried craft vendors with an expanded food area containing German food and a living nativity.
Live entertainment includes three stages of Christmas and German music, dancers, church choirs, school bands and individual performers. Santa will also make an appearance.
"This 5th annual festival is a great opportunity for gifts, live entertainment and community celebration," said event Co-Chair Pam Jones, adding that last year more than 7,000 people attended, with more anticipated this year with the addition of the shuttle busses.
