If you are unfamiliar with a style of pizza called “old Forge,” you might want to give Jigsy’s Brewpub and Restaurant a try. Jigsy’s opened back in 1999 on South Enola Drive and five years later relocated to 225 Enola Road.
The style of pizza Jigsy’s specializes in hails from “Old Forge,” Pennsylvania, located near Scranton and comprised of about 8,200 residents. The little borough has made big news touting itself as “The Pizza Capital of the World,” and attracting many pizza lovers as a result. Customers who are curious about the “Old Forge” area may want to take time to study some of the pictures of the area that owner Robin Davey Ardoline has hung on the walls. She explains that “Old Forge Pizza” can be ordered in either “red,” or “white,” is baked in a rectangular pan and comes in either “trays,’ or “cuts,” which are sold in increments of three, six and 12.
Additional menu items at Jigsy’s include wings, flatbreads, specialty pizzas, Stromboli, subs and pasta dishes. On the lighter side are homemade salads like traditional Greek, Italian chopped, Caesar and Chicken Bacon Ranch. According to Ardoline, customer favorites include Stromboli, wings, soups and meatballs and of course their nationally recognized pizza. For those who enjoy adult beverages with their food selections, Jigsy’s sells Pennsylvania spirits, along with wine and their own craft beer. Customers can end their meals on a sweet note with cannoli, or peanut butter pie.
If you’re seeking a place to throw a private party, Jigsy’s has you covered there too, with a catering menu and a party room that holds up to 45 guests.
Jigsy’s has been a local, family-owned gem for 22 years now. “This business has brought so many amazing customers through the doors. It’s so fun opening the doors each day to welcome those from our community and others who are just passing through,” said Ardoline.
