EAST PENNSBORO--Rite Aid has announced that it’s moving its headquarters to Philadelphia as it focuses more on a remote workforce. “We believe in remote work and as we lean into it for the long term, we are investing in a physical footprint that will facilitate its best version,” said CEO Heyward Donigan.
A press release issued by the company stated that the majority of its 2,800 corporate workers preferred working from home as they had been doing since the onset of COVID.
The company will be leasing 23,000 square feet of office space at the Philadelphia Navy yard, scaling back considerably from the 205,000 square-foot space they occupied in East Pennsboro Township. According to officials, the new space will be suitable for collaboration and gatherings as they move away from cubicles and offices.
The move will occur in the first half of 2022.
