Central PA’s resident radio theater comedy troupe, The Not Ready For Drive Time Players, will return for another holiday season of live lampooning when it presents WINTER RADIO THEATER 2021, Sunday, December 19th, 7 p.m. and Monday, December 20th, 7 p.m. at Center Street Grille, 4 Center Street in Enola, PA.
The troupe’s actors, who read directly from scripts like old-fashioned radio theater performers, return to their radio roots in two key ways: with skits which are reminiscent of serial dramas and comedies of yesteryear, only with a modern SNL-like spin; and sound effects “spun” by a live foley artist.
Details: Winter Radio Theater – Sunday, December 19th, 7 p.m., AND Monday, December 20th, 7 p.m., upstairs at the Center Street Grille. Featured skits will include “1st Annual Harrisburg Cannabis Parade,” Broadway spoof “Chicken on the Roof,” and “Slushy the Slushman.”
Admission for all performances is $5.00 at the door. All proceeds will benefit Theatre Harrisburg’s Angel Campaign, a fundraising initiative to help one of the oldest active community theaters in the U.S. to have a full post-pandemic recovery. Non-perishable food donations will also be collected for area food banks.
The troupe: John Butler, Randy Gross, Kelly Iris, Todd Matthews, Julia Tilley, and Randy Whitaker.
Caution: these shows contain some strong language and mature themes. Viewer discretion advised.
