Superintendent Stepping Down Next Year

News from the EP School District:

At our recent November 18 Board Meeting, Dr. Donna Dunar announced that she will not be seeking an extension of her contract that expires June 30, 2022. The Board has appreciated Donna’s efforts and stewardship of our district for the past four years. We will miss her wise counsel and steadfast focus on the needs of our students. We also applaud her grace and perseverance in navigating the ever-changing and always challenging issues brought on by the pandemic. Donna has committed to help us in the search for and transition to a new superintendent.

We wanted to take this opportunity to briefly share the Board’s plans for this transition. Upon her announcement, the Board asked Donna to assist us with finding an experienced consultant to conduct a superintendent search. The Board will likely look to consider a proposal at our January 6, 2022 public meeting. It is the Board’s desire to employ a superintendent search similar to what was done four years ago. This process will include receiving input from all of our stakeholders on any finalists that are interviewed by the Board.

The Board recognizes that this superintendent search is one of the most important and consequential tasks ahead of us for the coming new year. We are committed to it being an open and inclusive process and we are committed to the growing and future success of our district. The Board wishes you a joyful and restorative Holiday season.

With warmest regards,
