East Pennsboro School District just announced news about the WITF Central Pennsylvania Spelling Bee:
Omar Guerch, a middle school student in 8th grade, has advanced to the live WITF Central Pennsylvania Spelling Bee. He has the honor of being one of only 35 students from 11 counties invited to compete.
Each spring, the WITF Central PA Spelling Bee invites 4th to 8th grade students from 11 surrounding counties to demonstrate their spelling knowledge as they attempt to make their way to the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The school champions qualify to participate in the WITF Written Spelling Bee which consists of a written test and vocabulary test.
Omar is one of the top 35 spellers qualified to participate in the WITF Grand Championship Spelling Bee, an oral spelldown which is then broadcast on WITF TV. The Grand Championship Spelling Bee will be broadcast on WITF TV on February 25th at 6:00pm. The winner from the WITF Grand Championship Spelling Bee will qualify to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
Congratulations Omar on this fantastic accomplishment! We will all be cheering for you on the 25th!
